If there is no recipient in to accept your order, Royal Mail may choose to deliver it to a safe place at the intended address. If the courier deems the location to be a suitable safe place, they will leave a "Something For You" card explaining where the order resides.

If Royal Mail are unable to find a safe place which is suitable nor a neighbour is available to take the delivery, they will return your order to your local Royal Mail Customer Service Point. Again, with a "Something For You" card to explain the situation.
